Job Summary

The Senior Online Operations and Project Specialist provides project management, process improvement, and administrative services to ensure the operational efficiency for the Purdue University Online Learner Services team.  This position leads and coordinates the planning and execution of organization-driven strategic initiatives or business operations; develops communication and training for team members; establishes working relationships with internal and external constituents; assumes operational support roles within an academic unit relating to student, academic, and administrative needs; and collaborates with leadership on the development of strategies to enhance the student experience for Purdue University Online programs.  

This is a remote position. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Process Improvement

  • Refine systems and business processes for sustainable initiatives including admissions procedures, student support business processes, cross-enrollment processes, and more. Contribute to program academic policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Deliver a variety of consulting services such as process improvement, project planning, quality services and workforce development to promote efficiency, growth, and sustainability. Participate in analysis, design and simulation of systems processes. 
  • Coordinate and integrate project activities and resources. Establish working relationships with internal and external constituents.
  • Lead and coordinate the planning and execution of organization-driven strategic initiatives or business operations. 
  • Communicate with stakeholders throughout the company regarding project status, issues, and recommend options for keeping projects on track.
  • Identify, develop, implement, and work with Student Experience Team to communicate policy and procedures.
  • Liaison with all departments for the process, policy, and project development and execution.


Academic Unit Support

  • Serve on a cross functional team to support student engagement, student services, and program management in academic units.
  • Work with Purdue Online Student Experience team leads and administrative leads on maintaining service level standards in situations of temporary vacancies or succession. 
  • Collaborate with student experience team to ensure positive student experience interactions and communication.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of team members.

 

This position may include the supervision of up to two staff in the future. 

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, higher education, or related field required. 4 years of professional office experience related to outreach, teaching, presenting, education, and/or office management required. Purdue University work experience preferred. Experience working with departments on campus (e.g. Graduate School, Registrar's Office, Bursar's Office, and International Student Services) preferred. Experience with/in online degree programs preferred. Master’s degree preferred.

 

  • The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and oral communications skills with the ability to interact in a professional, collaborative and creative capacity with diverse faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members.
  • Capable of planning, managing, and executing events, programs, and administrative processes; ability to manage, analyze and interpret data; Solve problems and mitigate future problems.
  • Ability to attend to details and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to manage competing demands, prioritize workload, and work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Initiative and willingness to learn new skills, embrace changing technology, and interpret and communicate policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
