The Role

Location

This position is fully remote/ work from home or report hybrid to our Denver, CO office.

The Main Responsibilities

Lumen’s Enterprise Operations organization is looking for a Data Analyst intern on our Carrier Relations and Operations team.  The intern will support ongoing processes related to automated reports, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. This role offers hands on experience in auditing, process automation, data analysis, and the creation of dynamic dashboards for reporting and tracking audit metrics. Assist in automating key business processes, including billing, ordering, and contract data management, while collaborating with teams to present audit findings in a clear and visual format, helping drive data driven decisions within the organization.

Other responsibilities of intern will include:

  • Support in preparing and organizing requirements documentation for automated audits
  • Help review and analyze automation workflows and processes for accuracy
  • Perform data extraction, cleansing, and analysis to identify discrepancies or inefficiencies in billing, ordering, and contract management
  • Assist in documenting test results and helping identify areas for improvement
  • Help maintain up to date documentation of audit processes, logic, tools, and controls.
What We Look For in a Candidate

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment of the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.


•    Required qualifications
o    Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or graduate level education status at the start of the internship
o    Graduating August 2025 – May 2027
o    Preferred fields include bur not limited to: – Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Finance, or Information Systems. 
o    Intern must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 – August 8, 2025)


•    Proficiency and understanding of:
o    MS Office Suite – Excel heavy
o    Data Report and Dashboards like PowerBI
o    Familiarity with SQL
o    Experiences in languages like C or R is a plus


•    Preferred qualifications
o    Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights 
o    Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools is a plus. 
o    Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning and development. 
o    Ability to translate technical information into non-technical terms
o    Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues related to data accuracy, report performance, and user requirements
o    Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.        
o    Strong organization skills
o    Ability to multitask while working in fast paced environment 

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual’s level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

Hourly Based Pay Range:
Min: $26.00/hour
Max:  $43.00/hour
