Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will join our rapidly growing organization to build a profitable portfolio of both new and/or existing captives. This opportunity comes with a high level of visibility to senior leadership and will offer them the ability to add significant value. Must have technical knowledge across multiple P&C lines and demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with our partners.
- Manage assigned portfolio of programs with a focus on growing a strong and profitable book
- Establish and maintain relationships with existing and prospective partners in the MGA and delegated authority program segment
- Manage internal underwriting activities, operational metrics/KPIs, and book performance and report findings and recommendations to leadership
- Handle authority referrals on larger, more complex risks providing quality feedback and direction in a timely manner
- Develop underwriting guidelines and perform audits to ensure underwriting governance and compliance with core strategy, and take corrective actions where necessary
- Work closely with actuarial to develop pricing and assist in the preparation of specific program filings
- Coordinate product design and development as well as operations, claims, and financial structuring of program business
- Stay attuned to competitive landscape in context to market trends, legal environment, and broader macroeconomic environment
- Assist in identifying and vetting new program opportunities as part of due diligence process
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree required. Degree programs in business, insurance, actuarial, accounting, or finance preferred
- 5+ years of Property & Casualty underwriting or product development experience required
- Captives underwriting experience required
- Professional designations and licenses a plus
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional organizational, time management and written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and social skills
- Strong presentation and PC skills
- Ability to travel-25%
Compensation & Benefits
The applicable base salary for this opportunity is $155,000.00 - $175,000.00. The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this opportunity may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
