Project Manager – PMO (SAP S/4 HANA Transformation Programme)
Locations: UK/Spain/France

As part of our ongoing pursuit of excellence, we will be kicking off a significant Transformation Project to introduce S/4HANA, and as such we have created several positions to support this enterprise project (Project Nexus)

Role Purpose:

For Lonza’s transformation project to introduce S/4HANA, we create the new position of Director, Financial Compliance Subject Matter Expert (S/4HANA) to support this enterprise initiative.

The incumbent of this role will focuses on operational excellence in driving project activities, and is responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring day-to-day project activities for the successful delivery of the SAP S/4HANA implementation.

It involves as well overseeing project performance reporting, coordinating with both technology and functional teams, to ensure timely and accurate updates.

The role requires hands-on experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, and Smartsheet. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment, demonstrating strong communication and organizational skills across global teams.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a high-impact ERP transformation project with exposure to cutting-edge SAP technologies. The role is critical to ensuring that the organization leverages S/4HANA to drive business value and operational efficiency.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepare and manage detailed project plans, timelines, critical path and work breakdown structures for various workstreams
  • Identify, actively track, log, and escalate risks and issues, coordinating for mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to the plan.
  • Collect, compile, and update project dashboards, status reports and milestones on a weekly basis.
  • Own and maintain SAP implementation methodology handbook.
  • Provide training and guidance to the team members on PMO tools and processes
  • Support the PMO Lead in managing other tasks within the PMO

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Project Manager / PMO, preferably within large-scale SAP implementations or similar ERP projects.
  • Hands on experience within a Project Management role
  • At least one end-to-end SAP ERP implementation project
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Planview, Jira, Azure DevOps etc.
  • Good overview knowledge of SAP and SAP components
  • Working in GxP / computer system validation highly desirable
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, IT, or a related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications (Scrum Master, PMI-ACP) highly desirable.
