Graduation Services Coordinator
Office of the Registrar
Non- Exempt, Contingent I, Part-Time
Location: Remote
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is seeking a Graduation Services Coordinator. The Office of the Registrar is seeking to hire a Graduation Services Coordinator to support the Graduation Services team. The position is part-time, not to exceed 19 hours per week.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Candidate will be responsible for answering calls in the Graduation Services phone queue and responding to cases in the Graduation Services Salesforce queue. 
  • Contact students whose diplomas have been returned as undeliverable. Prepare those diplomas to be resent.
  • Responsible for the production and mailing of embassy letters, letters of completion, and Apostille requests. 
  • Processing graduation application term changes and term activations within PeopleSoft. 
  • Coordinate communications to students related to their graduation applications. 
  • Preparation of transcripts to be mailed to graduates after each conferral. 
  • Perform other job-related duties, as assigned. 
Required Education and Experience:
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Demonstrated competency in satisfactory resolution of student and/or customer initiated questions using resources and tools available via online or paper to deliver accurate and professional responses.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with detailed, factual information from a variety of sources with outstanding accuracy (e.g. 98% accuracy rate).
  • Ability to employ an analytical and creative approach to solving problems and consideration of potential solutions.
  • Understanding of requirements around student data privacy and the sharing of data appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers via phone, email, chat, and other methods.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with an ability to analyze.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize administrative tasks and workflow such that all service level agreements are met.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy.
