Position Overview

The Clinical Biostatistics internship (summer 2025) is designed for full- or part-time students pursuing an MS, MPH, or PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics. The intern will work closely with an experienced Clinical Biostatistician to participate in statistical research related to clinical development or post-marketing of oncology screening, diagnostic, or therapy selection products. The individual will collaborate with internal team members in the design, statistical analysis, reporting, and potential publication of one or more clinical research studies.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Essential duties.
    • Perform statistical analysis of clinical study data and present results to a cross-functional team
    • Demonstrate working knowledge of a wide variety of principles, theories and concepts in statistics and experimental design; must be able to apply them to the development and analysis of clinical studies specific to molecular diagnostics
    • Summarize the work for future departmental use and potentially produce a peer-reviewed publication
    • Attend seminars and other department activities to enhance the understanding of daily work of biostatisticians
    • Conduct analyses using SAS and/or R
  • Soft skills which are required to perform the job.
    • Apply basic statistical methodology learned in an academic setting to a real-world industry setting
    • Display strong communication skills with the ability to interpret results to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Exercise strong organizational skills with an emphasis on reproducibility and traceability of project work and program files
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.

Scheduling requirements:

  • Ability to work designated schedule.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral degree program in Statistics or Biostatistics.
  • Preference giving to candidates with a record of outstanding academic achievement.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Salary Range:

$34,000.00 - $54,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis, and may differ based on the hiring location.
