ERG seeks a bright, motivated, and detail-oriented professional with experience developing and implementing conformity assessment requirements for these programs. This position will support developing, implementing, and maintaining product and building certification programs.
Job Description:Develop, implement, and evaluate the success of programsEstablish roles and responsibilities for different program participants (e.g., accreditation bodies, conformity assessment bodies, verifiers, manufacturers, builders, building owners)Develop and review applications and agreements for program participationOversee continuous compliance requirements and conduct periodic audits of certification program participants to ensure ongoing adherence to program requirementsRegularly engage with clients and program stakeholders to evaluate certification program success and opportunities for improvementSupport the development of resources and training to assist interested applicants and program participants in understanding current program requirements and program updatesSupport the development of other program documentation, resources, and training to ensure conformity assessment activities are accurately and communicatedQualifications and Skills:At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental or climate science, engineering, public policy, business administration, or a related fieldFive years of relevant experience supporting building and/or product certification programsMinimum 3.0 GPAExperience developing and/or implementing certification or verification program requirementsFamiliarity with International Organization of Standardization (ISO) standards related to conformity assessment, such as ISO/IEC 17011, ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17029, and ISO/IEC 17065Familiarity with ISO standards related to product labeling, such as ISO 14024, ISO 14021, and ISO 14025Experience with developing and/or implementing products (e.g., ENERGY STAR, SaferChoice, EPEAT, or others included at www.epa.gov/greenerproducts/recommendations-specifications-standards-and-ecolabels-federal-purchasing) or green building certification programs (e.g., LEED, ENERGY STAR, Indoor AirPLUS, Green Globes)Experience managing projects and small teamsStrong technical capabilities and the written/verbal communication skills necessary to regularly interface with clients and ERG colleaguesAbility to manage and prioritize concurrent projects and meet tight deadlinesExcellent critical thinking and attention to detail to develop high-quality, client-ready deliverablesProficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more.
