$96,000.00 - $124,000.00

What’s the role

As a Human Resources Generalist you will be responsible for collaborating across the People and TA team to provide operational, process-related support needed to ensure that our team is able to meet its goals. We are seeking an outstanding HR Generalist who will support our team on internal and external HR matters that directly impact our company culture and employee engagement. In addition to partnering closely with all People Team members, you will also work closely with other key collaborators such as IT and Hiring Managers. To be successful in this role, the Senior HR Generalist will support our People team’s goal of improving the quality of customer service and operations.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, People Operations. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Managing day-to-day HR operations, leading our HR channels of communication and HR ticketing system (Zendesk).

  • Managing all personnel changes (including hires, transfers etc).

  • Liaising with benefit partners to support ongoing benefit administration.

  • Ensuring process and document compliance; building compliance into all we do. 

  • Maintaining employment records and changes while ensuring data integrity.

  • Participating in cross-functional team based projects as needed.

  • Building strong partnerships to ensure successful collaborations within the People team.

  • Supporting HR Business Partner in supporting business operations.

  • Supporting the on-boarding and off-boarding process including new-hire orientation

  • Assisting with general HR queries including payroll and benefit administration.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • 5+ years experience in Human Resources Generalist work.

  • 2+ years of Workday experience required.

  • Working knowledge of local HR processes and policies, including payroll and benefit administration.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Attention to detail

  • Experience processing HR and benefits requests, as well as record keeping

  • Fundamental knowledge of HR functions and best practices

  • Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate with business stakeholders at all organizational levels

  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets deadlines;

  • Ability to adapt to and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a real passion for solving problems while being resourceful.

  • Detail oriented and an ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
