Human Resource Manager

Mission:  Partner with management to support business performance and demonstrates care and concern for employees and the employment experience.  Develops, implements, and administers plans, policies, and programs in support of key priorities and business strategies.  Communicates with all levels of the organization, from senior leaders to new employees, and serves as champion of culture, engagement and retention that aligns with company policies, culture, and values.  Plans, organizes and implements several key HR processes and programs including: salary recruitment, onboarding, talent development, performance management, compensation, employee engagement and belonging, with a continuous improvement and effective change management approach.  Serves as a member of the management team.  This position will be primarily on-site with hybrid options based upon business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all HR responsibilities including policy deployment, performance management, compensation planning and administration, talent development, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations and engagement, and worker’s compensation and leave administration for assigned groups.
  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment including anticipating and developing pipeline of talent for key positions to support growth and diversity, equity and inclusion strategies.
  • Expand the training & talent management framework to ensure an appropriate mix of learning and development opportunities exist for all employees, including content delivery and effectiveness review.
  • Leverage information from employee engagement surveys to address key risks and opportunities while fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging.
  • Develop and implement programs to foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability in collaboration with business leaders.
  • Lead and champion programs that support all employees, on-site and remote, in their growth, development and contributions to the success of the business.
  • Define and deliver a mix of HR communications designed to ensure that employees understand the HR programs and benefits available to them.
  • Manage employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough data collection to coach managers on effective issue resolution and where necessary partner with legal to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, and corrective action).
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase engagement, performance and retention of talent.
  • Promote employee attraction and retention by undertaking regular internal and external compensation reviews and salary benchmarking; reporting data to Director of HR. Manage the Sales Incentive Plan.
  • Ensures that all employee handbooks and instructions which communicate conduct and performance expectations are contemporary and effectively communicated. Assures compliance with all labor laws, wage and hour, affirmative action and equal opportunity legislation as well as all other employee-related requirements.
  • Act as the site Affirmative Action Plan coordinator. Ensure integrity and accuracy of people data & processes. Undertake annual site audits to ensure ongoing compliance. 

Education

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, human resources, industrial relations, or equivalent; Masters degree in business or human resources preferred.  HR Certification preferred.

Work Experience

  • 5 – 7  years experience in increasingly responsible human resource generalist or business partner positions; two or more years of supervisory or management experience. 
  • HR experience supporting Sales, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain teams preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Working familiarity with human resource principles in the following areas:  engagement and retention programs, employment law and EEO / AA compliance, appreciation and recognition programs, multi-channel communication to the variety of audiences, open shop and union avoidance, compensation, selection and placement, leadership guidance, coaching and development.
  • Must have strong business acumen, emotional intelligence, ability to build relationships and create collaboration, excellent communication, presentation skills, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience leading talent initiatives and engagement programs with a hybrid professional workforce preferred.
  • Working familiarity with HCM and Payroll systems.  Experience with Workday and UKG Dimensions preferred.
