Role Overview
The Lead Cloud Network Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, and operational health of Revinate networks.  Revinates network topology consists of cloud and on-prem systems, numerous partner networks, peering, and advance routing configuration.  Key to success is an understanding of business requirements, following emerging and current technologies, implementing solutions that provide exceptional value, and managing solutions through their entire life cycle. Additionally, the Network Engineer will ensure that all infrastructure solutions adhere to industry best practices, are supported by process, always with a security-first stance, and yet are flexible enough to support a nimble organization.


What You'll Do
  • Own the entire network infrastructure through technical oversight, design and architecture. 
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software, hardware, and other network and system problems (this may include working directly with software developers, DevOps, Infrastructure, and on occasion end customers).
  • Design and implement effective network solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Perform disaster recovery operations and record backups when required.
  • Monitor overall network performance to decide if changes need to be made.
  • Intra and Inter cloud networking design and support. Identify, analyze, and resolve complex networking issues utilizing advanced technical experience
  • Configure network  routing and switching equipment.
  • Configure NMS to monitor health and availability of network components
  • Provides networking troubleshooting responsibilities
  • Work with Security and Compliance teams to ensure standards are met

  • What You'll Bring
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Expert with one or more commercial cloud offerings (AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud, etc)
  • A strong working knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud platforms
  • Working knowledge of one or more system management technologies such as Terraform
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Leadership skills and demonstrable examples of leading projects and/or teams 
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD
  • Hands on experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and an excellent understanding of network routing protocols
  • Hands on experience configuring and managing cross-cloud connectivity (strongly prefer experience with AWS Transit Gateway and GCP Network Connectivity Center)
  • Capable of implementing and maintaining management tools, both commercial and open source.
  • Firewall configuration and management. Advanced understanding of ingress/egress filtering, NAT, PAT, SSL, IPSEC, content inspection, IDS, and IPF. Capable of creating firewall rules based on business need, industry best practices, and PCI guidelines.
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus 7000 series switches
  • Experience with Palo Alto Network devices (PA 850 series, PAN-PRA-1000-CP, Panorama, PA-VM series) 
  • Experience with DataDog and Observium/LibreNMS (in the context of network and network device monitoring)
