Job description

YOUR MISSION:  You are instrumental in providing operational and strategic analyses that will improve our roadside assistance platform.  You will gather business requirements and provide a variety of curated data sets, metrics and reports to identify areas of improvement and monitor performance of our partner programs.  You will build sustainable and scalable reports for our internal & external stakeholders.   

YOUR LEGACY:  As an expert in our proprietary data, you developed reports and processes to aid in decision support for our call center, network operational, finance and product teams.  You supported new product enhancements, identified areas for cost reclamation & reduction and provided important new market roadside pricing for potential new customers.  You have added both technical and business expertise within the BI team.  The result?  You helped Urgently become the world’s leading mobility assistance company.   

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: 

Develop reports and dashboards in Excel, Tableau, and other data visualization and analytic tools. 

  • Become well versed on the data tables / data in our production environment (raw data) and reporting database. Be able to independently pull data (e.g., leveraging SQL, Python) and to advise Senior Business Leaders on ideal approaches to reporting and analyses. 

  • Build pricing models around key assumptions and dynamic inputs, clearly structuring all cost and revenue items to meet the demands and templates of large-scale Requests for Proposal (RFPs). 

  • Build operational metrics to gauge team effectiveness & financial metrics to show P&L by business groups 

  • Design and build sustainable metrics with performance in mind by creating new database views and tables to support downstream analytics 

Leverage the analytic products that you build to generate insights and recommend strategies and tactics on how to improve the business. 

  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with key business leaders from around Urgently, so that they are able to reach out to you for reporting and analytic support and guidance  

WHO YOU ARE: 

●   You have a Bachelor Degree in a related quantitative field (STEM, economics, social sciences, humanities, finance, analytics or related field). You have at least 1 year of experience in data and analytics, including hands-on working knowledge of SQL, Python, Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and substantial exposure to one or more data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau). You have completed data analysis from raw data to insight outside of a school or bootcamp project. 

●    You are data-driven and exceedingly practical mindset; directs analyses to generate insights to solve business problems. You have some exposure to building program  pricing models to meet the demands of RFPs. You have an understanding of hypothesis-driven research and the fundamentals of business and finance. Your insatiable curiosity helps you understand the key drivers behind trends and business problems within the roadside assistance industry (no prior industry experience necessary).  You have a learning mindset and always want to get under the hood in everything you do. 

●    You have a strong desire to learn the “ins and outs” of what makes the Urgently B2B2C software model work You are articulate and can comfortably present work and key findings to senior business leaders.  You can effectively communicate complex insights simply in writing and in meetings.  You have an energetic and positive outlook. You are self-aware – able to admit when you are wrong and have an open dialogue around optimal approaches to business problems. You are decision-oriented; capable of making decisions in the midst of incomplete or imperfect information 

    You have a deep respect for diversity of thoughts, approaches, and backgrounds. You have a strong desire to learn, to be coached and a desire to coach others over time. You are a good listener, open-minded to other ideas and a great collaborator. You have measured A/B experiments and can evaluate its effectiveness with data analysis. You understand the fundamentals of experimentations and testing. 

THE NITTY GRITTY: 

  • Location = Great news!  This position is remote and you have the option of working from anywhere in the U.S.!   

  • Manager = You’ll report to Manager, Business Intelligence 

  • Compensation = The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
