Our New Market, MD office is looking for a long- term Seasonal Tax Advisor to support and deliver timely and accurate processing of tax returns that are contracted through the WETCS department. This individual will work with Wealth Enhancement Group Advisors to promote the tax offerings with their clients. (This role has remote work schedule; it will be a seasonal position for the tax season and potentially have full-time opportunity in future.)
This work assignment will be from January 1, 2025, to April 15, 2025. This is a temporary full-time position. **The salary target for this role is approximately $25,000 - $35,000 depending on experience. This is a hourly position and wages will also be dependent on overtime worked and length of tax season hours worked.
We select our initial compensation target using national compensation survey data. When we make an offer, we then factor in things like tenure, performance, and geographic location to come up with the most accurate numbers. Primary Job Functions
Tax Preparation and Compliance
- Prepare tax returns, including related work documents: individual, Partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, Trusts, Estates, Foundations.
- Maintain fluency in all aspects of tax compliance
- Conduct tax research and planning, including but not limited to CCH Intelliconnect, BNA projections, special research projects, retirement account recommendations and set-up
- Respond to work with State and Federal Auditors
- Amend tax returns
- Review and respond to tax notices
Drive Productivity/Revenue Increases
- Identify iterations in current applications to enhance productivity and timeliness
- Be prepared to join meetings “ad hoc” to support tax work for IM teams
Foster Teamwork
- Maintain relationships with IM teams and their shared clients and identify additional revenue opportunities for both teams
- Act as a subject matter partner to internal support teams
Continued learning on relevant skills and trends/Job Knowledge
- Answer tax related questions and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Partners and Planners
- Study and research current industry trends
- Maintain fluency in all tax related software procedures
- Support client service functions for all teams as requested.
Education/Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting preferred
- CPA or EA preferred.
- 3-5 years of public accounting experience, preferably tax accounting
- Proficiency in Excel, Work, Drake Tax Software, and all other Drake products are preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills required to develop team and client relationships
