The role:
We are seeking a seasoned professional who is passionate about efficiency, team optimization, functions & programs. This individual will know the true importance and benefits a Program Management Office brings to a modern marketing function and will possess a strong past record of delivering performance improvements and efficiencies in a range of organizations.
The post holder should be both strategic and operational applying critical thinking and innovation to develop the program office of the future. They have an eye for detail and excel in making things simpler and more effective. An individual who thrives on removing bureaucracy and helping teams to be more productive whilst maintaining the required level of governance and transparency.

Hands on:
This role is very hands-on. The Director will be both a ‘player and coach’. They will help to guide, manage, mentor and assist the team in getting key PMO activities done. They don’t ‘sit on the team’ they help the team to get things done and optimize how they work. High energy, positivity and attention to detail are needed to undertake this role.
The Role of Program Management Office (PMO):
Armis has an established PMO for its global marketing department, in essence they ‘quarter back’ the work of the entire organization and assure that our critical activities come out on time & on budget.
The PMO has a framework which helps to govern key programs and projects including planning, deployment and monitoring activities with the wider team. Ensuring timelines, budget and OKRs are established within initiation and collaborating with teams to continue monitoring throughout the lifecycle of key activities.
Our primary PMO software platform is Asana, which is already embedded at Armis on an enterprise wide basis. The PMO also liaises with the central Finance & Legal departments. The function directly helps the Chief of Staff track and measure our budgetary spend, requesting and issuing Purchase Orders and ensuring the marketing org spends in accordance with its strategic timelines.
Line Management and Team:
Director, Marketing - Program Management Office (PMO) reports directly to the Marketing , Chief of Staff (MCoS). She/he/they are a member of the Extended Marketing Leadership Team. She, he, they has a team of 3 people and this team is likely to expand in due course.
The PMO sits alongside our Marketing Operations (MoPS) team and this post-holder will be a peer to the Director, Marketing Operations.
What you will do…
- Maintain & optimize further a high performing, efficient operational PMO for the Global Marketing team.
- Develop an efficient and streamlined PMO delivery framework for the Global Marketing team. The framework will deliver a clear process and transparency in program/project status for all teams
- Establish a governance process to manage project/program delivery, timelines, budget and resource. This process will effective in managing timelines, budget and delivery and assist with planning of new initiatives within the global marketing team
- Create a robust and regular program/project “health check” for marketing initiatives that can be shared with the CMO, project delivery teams and leadership groups as needed
- The role will develop a process for establishing program and project budgets, including the continued monitoring and management of spending. Producing financial reports as needed both at the departmental and individual initiative level as required by the CMO
- Mentor and guide delivery teams through challenges, providing an escalation path and tools to navigate the unforeseen.
- This role will collaborate with peers at all levels within the organization, to become the trusted advisors on all matters related to programs and project management
- Develop a process for vendor onboarding and management (including spend) on a consistent basis.
What we expect…
- Must have 7+ years’ experience as a Program / Senior Project Management / PMO lead in SaaS and a marketing organization
- Must have experience in effectively managing a Project Management Office and its operating model (this can not be new to you)
- Excellent practical and tactical knowledge of PMO governance models and design challenges (you know what works best)
- Demonstrate knowledge of how PMO’s support strategic vision and transformation initiatives
- Must be able to demonstrate experience of developing and managing project budgets and spend
- A solution orientated individual with a “can do” attitude
- Demonstrable experience in process optimization, innovation, efficiency realization programs
- Possess critical thinking and understands the company vision and how the global marketing department supports that
- Must have managed and structured teams across a global distributed network and have a passion for mentoring teams to think differently
- The successful candidate will have impeccable written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- A leader who possesses excellent influencing skills and tools to establish relationships, elevate teams and engage individuals
- Must have experience of managing and onboarding vendors

Salary range guidance for this position is: CAD$180,000-CAD$200,000 per year.
