The Workday Extend Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing custom applications and solutions using Workday Extend. This role will work closely with clients and internal teams to extend the capabilities of Workday's core functionality, ensuring the delivery of scalable, innovative solutions that meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of custom applications using Workday Extend, including integration with Workday's core functionality.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document requirements, translating them into technical specifications and design blueprints.
  • Develop and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions within the Workday ecosystem.
  • Provide thought leadership on best practices and architecture design, ensuring solutions align with Workday’s guidelines and standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Workday Functional Consultants, Developers, and Project Managers, to ensure successful delivery of custom applications.
  • Lead code reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure that development standards are adhered to across all projects.
  • Stay updated with new Workday Extend features, product enhancements, and industry trends to inform solution design.
  • Provide post-implementation support, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements for custom applications.
  • Mentor junior developers and architects, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Workday experience, with a focus on architecture, integration, or development.
  • 2+ years of experience developing applications using Workday Extend (formerly known as Workday Cloud Platform).
  • Strong expertise in Workday HCM, Financials, or related Workday modules.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable cloud-based applications.
  • Deep understanding of Workday’s APIs, data models, and security protocols.
  • Experience with web services, REST, and SOAP APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, XSLT, or Workday-specific languages like Workday Studio and EIBs.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Workday certification in Workday Extend or other relevant Workday certifications.
  • Familiarity with Agile or other software development methodologies.
  • Experience in client-facing consulting or technical advisory roles.
