Job description

WHO WE ARE: At Fors Marsh, we take on issues that matter. We are a team of researchers, advisors, and communicators working together to shape the systems that shape our lives. We look at human behavior from all angles to design targeted solutions that influence decision-making and move people to action. We are committed to the problem, not just the project, and we are intentional about taking on work and forming partnerships that balance purpose, people, planet, and profit. We are a certified B Corporation, a Just employer, and a 2019-2024 Top Workplace. We hold ourselves accountable to the values that have always defined us. And those values drive us to be the best possible versions of ourselves-for each other, our communities, our clients, and the world.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are looking for a Director of Strategic Growth to join our Growth team and lead our efforts to expand our business in the public health domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong public health and health equity background and leverage their expertise and network to position for and pursue new opportunities to solve the nation’s toughest health-related challenges for federal agencies such as HHS, NIH, CDC, SAMHSA, and VA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze the public health market landscape and trends and identify key growth areas and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a long-term strategy for pursuing and winning new business in the public health domain, aligned with our corporate vision and goals.
  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of capture activities for large deals that cut across the Fors Marsh lines of business, from opportunity identification and shaping to proposal phases to contract kick-off.
  • Create and cultivate strong relationships with current and potential clients, partners, and stakeholders in the public health domain, and position Fors Marsh as a preferred research, advisory, creative, and communications partner.
  • Collaborate across internal teams, including delivery, business development, finance, legal, and human resources, to develop, win, and launch new contracts.
  • Mentor and coach a diverse and talented team of researchers, consultants, creatives, and communicators to shape and influence emerging issues and solutions in the public health domain.
  • Monitor and report on the performance and progress of capture activities and provide regular feedback and guidance to senior management and executive leadership.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, public policy, business, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience developing and executing successful capture strategies and designing innovative and impactful solutions on large (25M+), multi-year contracts with federal agencies such as SAMHSA, HHS, NIH, CDC, and VA.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the public health domain, including the mission, vision, goals, priorities, and challenges of federal health agencies such as HHS, NIH, CDC, SAMHSA, and VA.
  • Recognized expert on public health issues and topics, such as health equity, mental health and substance use disorder, and health risk management.
  • History of galvanizing cross-functional teams (e.g., researchers, creatives, communicators, data scientists) to collaborate on the development of winning solutions for federal clients.
  • Strong skills and experience in developing and implementing capture strategies, conducting market research and analysis, developing win themes and value propositions, leading and facilitating capture reviews, leading proposal development and production, and negotiating teaming agreements and contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate, inspire, and empower capture teams and subject matter experts across the company to deliver innovative thought leadership and technical solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards of quality and ethics.

We Offer:

Our benefits typically meet or exceed our competitors’ packages. Ways we are unique?

  • Ability to make an impact on people’s lives, both internal and external to the organization.
  • Top-tier health, dental, vision, and long and short-term disability coverage all covered at 100% for employee coverage.
  • Remote work.
  • Our company culture, which values balance and allows each employee to take leave as they require it to balance the responsibilities of both their work and home lives without worrying about depleting their available leave hours.
  • We provide a floating holiday bank so you can celebrate the days you value.
  • Generous matching retirement contributions and no vesting period starting the third month of employment.
  • Dedicated training and development budgets to expand your expertise and grow your skillset.
  • You can volunteer your way with paid time off.
  • You can participate in Fors Marsh staff-led affinity groups.
  • Our employees receive product and service discounts through the certified B Corp network.
