POSITION SUMMARY:
The Post-Award Specialist works as part of a team and under general direction of the Manager, Post-Award and assists with Post-Award activities related to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s portfolio of grants and awards, including basic research, research training, clinical trial, and clinical care awards. This requires knowledge of grant/award management principles and guidelines, technical expertise, and project management skills. The Specialist collaborates with internal departments and serves as a primary point of contact for principal investigators, research administration staff, and others interested in funding opportunities, as well as for current grantees and awardees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the Manager of Post-Award with steering the performance of Post-Award activities, including award management, customer service, and tracking key performance indicators.
Monitors incoming renewal applications and screens documentation for adherence to terms and conditions of the award and Foundation policies.
Monitors general email inboxes under portfolio and addresses inquiries.
Keeps Program staff and grantees updated on upcoming grant report deadlines.
Processes and reviews renewal reports and expense reports, and works closely with awardees and Program staff to resolve various support needs.
Assists with preparing monthly payment authorization schedule for grants and awards; verifies accuracy of scheduled payments.
Processes and executes various Post-Award activities and ad hoc requests, such as no-cost extensions, de-obligation notifications, Transfer of Institutions, and Change of Principle Investigator..
Leads and directs reoccurring meetings with Program Officers to review grant and fiscal program performance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Four-year degree or equivalent education/experience required.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a grants or contracts professional, preferably with at least one year in a grantmaking organization.
Relevant experience working with grants management systems, databases, and CRMs. Familiarity with SmartSimple or Salesforce a plus.
Strong data handling skills and proficiency in Excel.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and confidentiality.
Ability to identify problems and find creative, effective solutions.
Aptitude for quantitative analysis and ability to monitor and evaluate performance metrics.
Ability to process large volumes of email inquiries on a daily basis. Excellent judgment in handling a variety of internal and external customer service issues.
Ability to successfully manage multiple requests and competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills: must be able to communicate confidently and effectively to different stakeholders. Role requires public speaking and training others.

The salary range is $60,800.00 to $84,400.00. Specific salary varies based on geographic location and is commensurate with experience.
