We invite you to become an integral member of our esteemed team as a Medical Biller Collections Representative, specializing in the thriving sector of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as a manufacturer and retailer. This remote role empowers you to leverage your expertise in advanced computerized billing processes and electronic claims submissions, while also taking charge of collections. Your skills will be pivotal in managing complex tasks efficiently, contributing to the seamless operation of our billing framework under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the electronic billing process to insurance carriers, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to rectify discrepancies in patient accounts and address data entry errors efficiently, which are vital in optimizing the billing workflow.
  • Validate essential documentation to ensure the completion of orders, including prescriptions and delivery tickets.
  • Precisely bill for products and services rendered to patients, aligning with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage billing for re-rented products and services while complying with associated guidelines.
  • Regularly assess billing status reports to maintain accurate records and identify any inconsistencies.

Collections

  • Take proactive measures to resolve denied, non-payment, or short-paid claims through thorough research.
  • Implement innovative problem-solving strategies to improve departmental processes and utilize our database software effectively.
  • Provide mentorship and training to team members, fostering a cohesive and collaborative environment.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between departmental management and team members to address procedural inquiries and suggest enhancements.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of both paper and electronic systems that support departmental functions.
  • Stay updated on the VQ OrthoCare product line and associated billing practices, including Medicare regulations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Apply foundational billing principles to various business actions and reporting responsibilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with various departments.
  • Familiarity with billing practices, particularly Medicare regulations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in medical billing and collections, or a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Preference given to candidates with over 2 years of experience specifically in Medicare billing and collections.
