What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the full recruitment process for a diverse range of positions, including administrative roles, therapists, and clinical staff. Attract and retain top talent aligned with Total Life’s mission to provide exceptional mental healthcare for older adults.
  • Employee Support & Development: Assist with full-cycle HR services such as onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations, fostering a highly engaged and motivated workforce.
  • HR Operations: Maintain accurate employee records, help interpret policies, draft employment agreements, and support in implementing programs for onboarding, terminations, learning and development, and more.
  • Recruitment Strategy: Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs across departments, develop recruitment strategies, and implement best practices to ensure an efficient and effective hiring process.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws and health & safety regulations, staying informed on industry trends and recruitment strategies.
  • Benefits & Compensation: Educate employees on their benefits packages and work with insurance providers to maintain competitive and equitable compensation.
  • Event Coordination: Help organize company-wide events and initiatives that promote a sense of community, well-being, and personal growth among employees.
  • HR Projects: Contribute to ongoing HR projects that support Total Life’s growth and mission, improving processes and building efficiencies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role, preferably in healthcare or a startup environment.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in business, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of recruitment and employment best practices, including knowledge of healthcare staffing needs and experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with BreezyHR, PayChex, Slack, Asana, and Google Suite is a plus.
  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: You have a track record of managing competing priorities with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
  • Independent & Resourceful: You are a driven problem-solver who thrives on taking responsibility and seeing tasks through to completion.

Location & Flexibility:

  • This position is in-office for Edmonton-based applicants or remote for candidates in other cities who are willing to travel to Edmonton as needed.

  • Competitive salary of $50,000- $70,000 plus potential annual bonuses.
