, is seeking a UI/UX Engineer to support
KITS and our government customer.

Koniag Government Services is seeking a highly skilled UI/UX engineer to support the US Department of State in supporting the Global Public Affairs Web Assets.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with customers and developers with a firm understanding of best practice to design images, themes and graphics that follow 508 compliance and industry best practice.
- Develop and maintain user interfaces for web applications, ensuring a seamless and responsive user experience.
- Collaborate with developers to implement visually appealing and user-friendly designs.
- Work with front-end frameworks such React and Typescript to build dynamic and interactive user interfaces and demonstrate with tools such as Figma.
- Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal speed and efficiency of web applications.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, then utilize those skills to drive software infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional Front-End experience.
- Strong knowledge of front-end technologies and frameworks such as React, Typescript, HTML, CSS, Material-UI, Nivo Charts, GraphQL Request.
- Experience in state management using MobX and React Context API.
- Familiarity with testing libraries and frameworks, including Jest and Testing Library.
- Experience in data fetching and state management with TanStack React Query, showcasing the ability to handle asynchronous data effectively.
- Strong commitment to code quality and adherence to coding standards, Familiarity with ESLInt, Prettier and styelint.
- Proficient in using Git for version control and Figma for designs.
- Experience with build tools such as Vite.js, esbuild and Rollup
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
Preferred:
- Web site experience in an environment using a Content Management System such as WordPress
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies. (Jira)
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
