The Role

ISM is seeking a results-oriented professional to assume responsibility for our financial management operational functions. The Manager, Finance, will apply proven expertise in finance and accounting disciplines, coupled with strong leadership and managerial skills, to support ISM’s business needs. The Manager, Finance, analyzes financial results, leads and trains staff, liaises with business areas on financial matters and provides guidance about related policies, procedures, and legislation. 

The Manager, Finance, will report to the Controller, and will interface with both internal and external stakeholders. This role is subject to regular business working conditions, and is expected to evolve as ISM’s business evolves.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance team and other project efforts, being responsible for reporting and analyzing financial results for corporate entity, product lines and customer contract profitability.

  • Develop financial plans and forecasts including assisting in strategic direction, cost saving initiatives, and human resource impacts within area of responsibility.

  • Set directions, prioritize activities and establish work and training schedules for direct reports and project team members; monitor team member progress and contributions.

  • Maintain financial system data integrity and reporting requirements.

  • Interpret and apply accounting and billing practices, procedures, policies and legislation.

  • Provide guidance and decision making on financial processes to ISM’s executive and management teams.

  • Maintain high sensitivity to control fundamentals and posture of organization and recommends action to ensure adequate controls.

  • Periodic requirement to work flexible hours around accounting cycles.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Who You Are

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Commerce, majoring in Finance or Accounting.

  • Completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA).

  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, and management.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a team to meet and exceed expectations.

  • Ability to define and organize team efforts and project plans effectively.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office, financial reports, financial models, analysis, and in-depth return on investment analysis.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in SAP would be considered an asset.

  • Ability to use creativity and judgement to recognize problems and issues in areas of complex and potentially conflicting data relationships.

  • Demonstrated broad business perspective and knowledge across a variety of topics, both financial and non-financial.

  • Strong communication skills to communicate clear, concise and informative reports and messages, to accurately exchange data and information with peers and management.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate on a global scale with remote teams.

  • Ability to work flexible hours around accounting cycles.
