Job description

ABOUT PARITY:

Buildings in our beautiful cities, where we live and work, are producing 40% of the CO2 going into our atmosphere and contributing to climate change. We need to HEAT, VENTILATE, and AIR CONDITION our buildings 24/7. Most of the energy consumed in a building is for our comfort, but 50% of it is wasted! This is because buildings have little to no technology to control this.

Parity is a Remote HVAC Optimization as a Service company. We remotely control and optimize HVAC systems 24/7/365 to deliver automatic energy savings and revenue to multifamily residential buildings and hotels. Using advanced algorithms, Parity can predict the amount of energy needed ahead of time to operate a building to meet its residents' demands and adapt the building's systems and machinery in real time. We save our customers:

  1. Time - we automate setpoint adjustments and demand response protocols. Our Pi (Parity Insights) dashboard provides early alerting services when things go down.
  2. Money - Parity contractually guarantees the savings that we expect to deliver to our multifamily customers. We also provide quarterly and annual energy savings reports.
  3. CO2 Emissions - we reduce a building’s emissions by optimizing its HVAC systems and reducing energy waste.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Energy Reporting Coordinator to join our Energy Reporting team. The Energy Reporting Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our utility data collection process. This involves interacting with external stakeholders to gather utility bill data from a variety of utility providers and third party providers across Canada and the US. This role is crucial for carrying out the measurement and verification of energy efficiency projects and will include responsibilities in producing energy savings reports and enhancing reporting practices within the Energy Reporting team. Additionally, this role will involve processing and validating this data internally, and working with the product and reporting teams to select and implement effective automated utility data ingestion solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a solid understanding of data entry and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the utility data collection process, ensuring timely and accurate acquisition of utility bills and related information from external stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with utility providers, vendors, and other external sources to facilitate smooth data retrieval.
  • Monitor and follow up on data requests to ensure compliance with reporting deliverable deadlines and data quality standards.
  • Process and validate utility bill data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the information requested, resolving any discrepancies or issues in data submissions with third party utility providers.
  • Conduct data entry tasks with precision and efficiency, utilizing Microsoft Excel and other softwares to organize and analyze data.
  • Analyze current data collection processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement best practices and recommend changes to optimize the utility data collection and processing workflows.
  • Collaborate with the product and energy reporting teams to select and integrate a utility data ingestion solution that meets organizational needs.
  • Work closely with the Energy Reporting team and other departments to ensure seamless data integration and reporting.
  • Prepare and present regular updates on data collection progress, issues, and enhancements.
  • Work with the Energy Reporting team to carry out Option C analysis of the utility data collected in accordance with IPMVP.
  • Assist the Energy Reporting team with producing energy savings reports and enhancing reporting practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • An academic background in Engineering or related fields, with a passion for HVAC, building automation or mechanical/electrical engineering.
  • You constantly seek efficiency and optimization of processes and procedures; you look for gaps and work to fill them.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to create reports, perform data analysis, and manage large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with external stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in data entry and management software; familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with RETScreen and familiarity with IPMVP (International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol) principles is a plus.
