Job Overview

Join our esteemed team as a Remote Energy Storage Real Estate Attorney and play a crucial role in advancing the renewable energy sector. We are in search of a legal expert with a robust background in real estate transactions to contribute to our expanding portfolio of utility-scale energy storage initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in negotiations involving leases, land options, purchase agreements, easements, entitlements, and site control agreements pertinent to renewable energy projects.
  • Draft, amend, and negotiate all legal land agreements relevant to utility-scale renewable projects.
  • Assist the real estate team in conducting title, survey, and mineral due diligence, including land use research.
  • Supervise the financial closing processes for renewable land development purchase and lease transactions.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, including outside counsel, throughout the land acquisition process.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of land title issues, land mineral rights, and the project development permitting process.
  • Proven expertise in drafting and reviewing real estate documents, including purchase/sales agreements and lease terms.
  • Strong negotiation skills in land negotiations and substantial commercial real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with the utility-scale renewables origination and development processes, including solar PV, energy storage, and wind projects.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in large infrastructure land development real estate transactions, ideally within a licensed attorney role for a renewables development firm. Experience at a top law firm is highly regarded.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
