Job description

Prescribing Pharmacist,

We’re looking for an experienced Prescribing Pharmacist to join Phlo in a full-time remote position. You will be joining a recently-established clinical services team so there is scope to establish and influence our prescribing strategy. You’ll work closely with the Chief Pharmacist, Superintendent Pharmacist, Medical Director, and CQC Registered Manager, as well as with our tech and marketing functions.

As a dynamic digital pharmacy, interest in this space and some experience of clinical governance would be desirable. This is a full time, permanent role that will mainly work remotely with some occasional in-person sessions in either London or Manchester (travel paid). The role will be predominately weekdays with occasional weekend rota shifts as needed.

We are not looking for prescribers who are working a portfolio career across a range of providers.

The Job

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

    • Provide prescribing services to patients, using agreed protocols and clinical pathway
    • Prioritise, organise and manage your own workload in a manner that maintains and promotes quality 
    • Work with Medical Director and to create and develop clinical pathways 
    • Prescribe and review medications for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs in accordance with evidence-based practice and company protocols, within scope
    • Work with patients in order to support compliance with, and adherence to, prescribed treatments.
    • Utilise and demonstrate sensitive communication styles, to ensure patients are fully informed
    • Recognise and work within own competence and professional code of conduct as regulated by the GPhC
    • Liaising with the governance team to clinical governance meetings with the prescribing team
    • As an in-house role, there will be opportunities to influence our prescribing strategy and ways of working as the function grows

Requirements

The Person

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with the following:

  • GPhC registered Pharmacist
  • Independent Prescriber qualification essential
  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner MSc/PGDip preferable
  • Independent Prescriber experience
  • Able to work flexibly, efficiently and autonomously while maintaining a high quality of service
  • Interest in working with and supporting the journey of a high-growth digital pharmacy would be desirable
