Job description

POSITION:

The District Lead Instructor position is a high level leadership role where the candidate will be expected to Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable a team of Lead Instructors. The expectation is that the candidate will be comfortable having difficult conversations, thinking strategically, and making empowered decisions based on the needs of their district and the overall organization. This individual must be able to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively across multiple business channels and departments. This role is an “on-call” management level role, which means that “the buck stops here”, i.e. the candidate will be expected to resolve the majority of any emergency or ad hoc issues within their district with flexibility and the ability to prioritize the needs of the business moment to moment, with minimal direction.

  • Current Club Pilates (Empowered Pilates) Lead Instructor 

  • Punctual, reliable, professional and dedicated

  • Collaborate openly and honestly with the leadership team during weekly meetings

  • Work harmoniously as part of a team

  • Adapt and evolve in an ever-changing fast-paced diverse environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continue to lead Pilates group reformer classes pursuant to Club Pilates standards

  • Create an EXCEPTIONAL member and teammate experience

  • Uphold our core values to ensure a positive studio culture that is inclusive and encouraging

  • Work with District Manager counterpart to plan and promote district wide special events

  • Recruit new Instructors and maintain a talent bench

  • Complete or delegate new employee onboarding for all new instructors 

  • Ensure that Message of the Week goals are hit weekly

  • Have the capacity to work for up to 40 hours a week (including all teaching hours)

  • Provide Instructional Coaching and Support 

  • Point of Contact for Lead Instructors

  • Facilitate a weekly Level 10 meeting for direct reports AND attend a weekly Level 10 meeting with your supervisor

  • Offer Support & Guidance for Sub Requests (Global Admin of Sub System)

  • Offer Support & Guidance for each studio schedule (have an in depth understanding of the timing on adding/removing classes, changing class types, etc.)

  • Conduct Quarterly Lead Instructor Audits/Convos & Annual Reviews

  • Oversee Quarterly Audit and Conversation Schedule for district

  • Ensure Completion of the Weekly/Monthly Equipment Safety Checklist

  • Coordinate & Collaborate on Equipment Repairs / Replacement

  • Manage Overall Instructor Schedule

  • Instructor Training, Development & PIPs

  • Be responsible for equipment replacement and repair budget

  • Be a motivating and inspiring force to promote our motto: Do Pilates. Do Life.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Non-exempt employees begin accruing paid sick leave, pursuant to our policy further outlined in the Employee Handbook, at the start of employment. Employees will accrue one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum accrual of 48 hours each year.

  • As an hourly employee, you are eligible for holiday pay on the following recognized holidays: New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve (we are closed on Christmas Day). You will receive "one and a half times" your regular hourly rate for any hours worked on these holidays.

  • All employees receive 20% off all retail purchases made in any of the Empowered Pilates operated, Club Pilates studios. Once per quarter during our employee appreciation weekend, employees will receive 40% off all purchases (excluding Senita, per our purchase agreement with them). Employee purchases must be rung up by another employee.

  • As a leader in our Organization, you are also eligible for a free "Unlimited Membership" based in your home studio. 

  • You are eligible for up to $150 per quarter retail reimbursement. 

  • You are eligible for $1000 reimbursement for Continuing Education, which is approved by your Manager.
