Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced PowerBuilder Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a problem-solving mindset, a strong background in working with cloud environments (preferably AWS), and the ability to lead the team through the process of upgrading legacy code. This role requires exceptional skills in development practices, object-oriented programming, and flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for development, maintenance and support the application written in PowerBuilder 2022 and .NET with SQL Server as backend
  • Develop and fix the database issues by writing/modifying store procedures, triggers and functions
  • Contributing to regular code review and providing feedback to peer team members
  • Following the Development lifecycle as per the organizational guidelines
  • Implement and advocate for best practices in testing, code review and technical design
  • Apply advanced OOP principles to design robust software solutions
  • Ensure code is modular, efficient, and maintainable. Mentor junior developers on OOP best practices and principles
  • Gather requirements and information from stakeholders on the development tasks
  • Should be able to work in a dynamic environment with changing priority and assignments
  • Refactoring code for better code quality and application performance
  • Active participation and engagement with peer team members and stakeholders in meetings

    • Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in PowerBuilder 12.5 and 2019 or above
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in databases like MS SQL Server
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and upgrade legacy systems
  • Experience with PowerBuilder Foundation Classes (PFC)
  • Experience writing Store Procedures, Triggers, functions and complex queries is must
  • Exceptional skills in development practices, including testing, code review and CI/CD
  • Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • Preferred previous experience with HL7 and FHIR
  • Preferred experience working on .NET development
