Job Description

The client legal services attorney represents insured and the Company in the investigation and defense of no-fault claims and lawsuits. The attorney prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, examinations under oath, and depositions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct depositions examinations under oath and prepares summary documents

• Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses

• Keep claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.)

• Review new file assignments, all documentary evidence, and approves initial pleadings, propound discovery, and/or develop strategy

• Investigate medical providers billing the Company and pursue litigation as appropriate

• Draft motions

• Try and/or arbitrate cases including by preparing motions, and motions in limine

• Conduct settlement/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.)

• Prepare and conduct court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.)

***Ability to travel within the Syracuse, NY area (as needed)

Education

• Juris Doctor (Required) and licensed with the NY State Bar and in good standing

Experience

• 2 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This job does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 - 152,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
