Job description

Job Overview & Responsibilities:

The Technical Sales Rep 2 plays a critical role in supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. This position involves designing and delivering tailored solutions for clients, managing technical workshops, and coordinating proofs of concept to ensure successful sales outcomes. The Technical Sales Rep 2 will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external customers to create effective solutions that address complex client requirements, particularly in open-source technology.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Create and deliver technical support for the product sales team and key solicitations or bids.
  • Manage technical tasks related to workshops, training sessions (both internal and external), and proofs of concept to support sales efforts.
  • Design open-source solutions for clients, documenting requirements and specifications, and developing strategies to address complex technical challenges.
  • Communicate proactively and independently with both internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers and/or OEM reps.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to define practices for platform deployment, project lifecycle, hardening, resiliency, security, operations, and maintenance.
  • Maintain and enhance automation in support of setup and provisioning of new projects for Ansible and OpenShift. 
  • Lead technical presentations and attend key industry events in support of the public sector sales teams.
  • Collaborate with solutions specialists and consulting lead to determine best-fit resources for projects.
  • Attend key sales team meetings and contribute to strategy and GTM deployment.
  • Comply with corporate time keeping standards.
  • Conduct regular reviews on customer and strategic accounts to identify actions that enhance value.
  • Explore new ways to add technical value for both internal and external sellers and the customer base.
  • Engage with stakeholders to improve processes, team culture, and operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Support continuous learning for the sales team to further develop Emergent’s knowledge and skillset.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science, or related field, or combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of technology sales experience.
  • Experience working with OEMs in a sales environment, specifically working with RHT products, a plus.
  • Experience supporting public sector clients a plus.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSAs):

  • Ability to demonstrate subject matter expertise specifically with RHEL, Ansible, Satellite, Smart Management and OpenShift. 
  • Ability to present technical value propositions and key benefits to decision-makers within Emergent’s client base.
  • Ability to host and lead technical workshops for key customers as part of Emergent’s technical workshop program.
  • Ability to be an effective troubleshooter and evaluate the proper Red Hat technical solution for individual client needs.
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects. 
  • Ability to creatively and resourcefully problem-solve both independently and with a team. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and present to executive-level clients and describe complex processes to audiences with varying skill levels. 
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced team environment, work independently and multitask. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.  
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite. 
  • Ability to lead by example and promote a positive, collaborative team environment. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a telecommuting environment.
