The Community & External Affairs Liaison will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication initiatives to support our organization's goals and objectives. This individual will serve as a key liaison between our organization and external stakeholders, clients, community-based organizations, government agencies, and community organizations.


 

Job Summary Details:        

  • Serve as a point of contact for the state Medicaid plan as a liaison with the Medicaid Managed Care Plan in in order to promote the most optimal outcomes in terms of integrating and coordinating services between both delivery systems.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and industry partners.
  • Attend community outreach events and interact with potential enrollees/members.
  • Build relationships with individuals and organizations to facilitate coordination with community-based resources, as well as medical and dental providers.
  • Work with community-based services and representatives to educate and assist program members about behaviors that can enhance their oral health, as well as their overall health, and successfully navigate program services.
  • Collaborate with data analytics staff to develop and maintain a report system for outcomes.
  • Identify potential resources and initiate/further collaboration with community centers, mental health centers, faith/ethnic-based social service organizations, and school organizations to improve member health outcomes and HEDIS measures.
  • Mentor, motivate and coach staff for optimal performance and to ensure best possible service is provided by all department personnel.
  • Ensure closed loop referrals are implemented were applicable and track and manage where referrals are documented.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidates must reside in Florida and be willing to travel up to 25%.

 

Specific Skills/Knowledge

  • Experience with collaboration, coalition building, and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management skills and flexibility to perform well under pressure with shifting priorities
  • Expert understanding of the dental and/or health care industry, specifically in Medicaid or Medicare.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for various audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential challenges and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry or with government agencies.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Ability to work flex hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
  • Ability to travel locally or nationally as necessary, up to 25%

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Public Health, or a related field (minimum 4-year degree required).

Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, or a similar role
  • Minimum of 3 years in the healthcare or dental insurance industry.


 

Location

Our employees are distributed in office locations in multiple markets across the United States.  We are unable to hire or allow employees to work outside of the United States. This position required residency in the state of Florida.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary for this position is $77,000 - $90,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.  If you are hired at Liberty, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.  In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any, final offer.  Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role.  Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
