Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MySQL Aurora Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and optimizing MySQL databases, particularly in AWS environments. This role involves migrating databases, troubleshooting performance issues, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our database systems. You will play a crucial role in supporting our development teams and enhancing our database infrastructure to meet the growing demands of our applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Database Migration: Assist with the migration of MySQL Aurora databases from version 5.7 to MySQL 8, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Perform regular troubleshooting and maintenance tasks for MySQL databases, including monitoring performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions.
• Query Optimization: Understand and interpret complex requirements that necessitate advanced MySQL queries. Analyze query performance and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency.
• Deployment Support: Participate in blue/green deployment strategies, including creating and managing CVMs (Cloud Virtual Machines) and attending deployment meetings.
• Production Support: Work on production adcentral sem databases, handling deployment requests across stage, QA, and production environments.
• Performance Tuning: Demonstrate a strong understanding of MySQL Aurora performance tuning topics such as load balancing, scaling, and identifying problematic queries or operations.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams to understand their database needs and provide support for application development and deployment.

Basic Qualifications

• Proficient in MySQL database management and administration.
• Experience with AWS Cloud services, particularly Amazon Aurora.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of scripting languages, particularly Python (Spark is a plus).
• Proficient in ITSM/Tracking tools like Jira.
• Strong experience with MySQL DB (required).
• Familiarity with MongoDB and Snowflake (preferred but not required).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
