National Security Analyst

HOW A NATIONAL SECURITY ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● This is an entry-level, full-time opportunity for a public affairs communication’s professional with a minimum of two years’ experience to provide public affairs and event planning support to the Navy's Office of Communications Outreach. Duties will include planning and execution for "Navy Weeks, " outreach events throughout the country designed to showcase the Navy - it's missions, equipment and its people.

● Every year, America's Navy comes home to approximately cities across the country to show Americans why having a strong Navy is critical to the American way of life. Navy Weeks focus a variety of outreach assets, equipment on a single city for a week-long series of engagements with key audiences.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
● Required Experience: 2+ years of event planning and public communications experience
● Required Technical Skills: The ideal candidate will assist by providing market research, event coordination and media relations support for the Navy's outreach efforts.

● Conduct market research on designated Navy Week cities throughout the U.S.

● Participate in planning efforts, working directly via phone and email; provide updates and collaborate with planning teams during weekly conference calls. Attend in-person meetings during site visits.

● identify relevant organizations, corporations, government officials, etc., to participate with the Navy during Navy Weeks.

● Plan and execute outreach events to include high-level executive engagements, general public events, volunteer opportunities, visits with community organizations as directed by the client.

● Construct and submit itineraries, trip books and other schedules of events.

● Serve as a point of contact to attend media engagements during execution of Navy Weeks.

● Monitor media activity generated as a result of outreach events.

● Demonstrated event planning and communications skills.

● Demonstrated knowledge of public affairs, media relations experience.

● Ability to plan events with diverse groups of people and organizations.

The likely salary range for this position is $70,428 - $95,286. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
