Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner will build client support skills by supporting leaders and employees their aligned organizations within the North America region. This position is both operational and strategic in nature. The overall goal is to align HR practices with the business needs while being an integral part of supporting the Covetrus HR team. The HRBP will provide HR guidance and expertise in the areas of talent development and retention, employee relations, recruitment, manager coaching, performance management, and compensation, among other areas.
Thu Human Resources Business Partner may also support various Talent Management initiatives for Covetrus by administering talent programs and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Act as HR subject matter expert and coach to aligned people leaders in relation to supporting their teams and delivering the people strategy agenda, participating in leadership team meetings and driving people strategy for aligned business groups.
- Provide support where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Interacting and facilitating with senior leaders on matters concerning aligned functional areas
- Partner with the business to align HR policies and practices with business needs and proactively provide support to help drive achievement of business results.
- Facilitate change and support the implementation and successful adoption of talent initiatives within the business unit.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the business while supporting employee related activities and programs.
- Support the business unit in the development and retention of top performers; build a pipeline of diverse future leaders for the sustainability and success of the business unit.
- Develop, drive, and implement the HR processes in areas of retention, engagement, development, total rewards, and employee relations.
- Develop and maintain trusting and effective working relationships with employees and managers.
- Ensure HR processes are understood and applied in the organization.
- Serve as a partner to aligned people leaders, making data driven recommendations for improvements around performance, engagement, and retention and coaching on people management challenges.
- Advise and coach our managers on evaluating performance, developing and motivating their team members, and making decisions aligned to our talent philosophy.
- Manage operational talent processes including performance improvement plans and documentation for disciplinary actions or employee relations cases.
- Collaborate with the global HR team to roll out coordinated initiatives to help improve talent management processes.
- Build relationships and trust with leaders, managers, and individual contributors across the business.
- Take ownership of specific projects or initiatives as directed.
- Support HR leadership with materials and implementation of talent programs.
- Partner with the business to align HR policies and practices with business needs and proactively provide support to help drive the achievement of business results.
- Develop and oversee strategies to attract, develop, and retain strong and diverse talent.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the business while supporting employee-related activities and programs.
- Maintain a professional level of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to employees and managers.
- Provide guidance, interpretation and best practices to employees and managers on all HR policies and practices.
- Partner with Centers of Excellence and regional HRBP’s in areas including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, HRIS and OD to roll out and support HR programs and best practices within the business.
- Work within a highly matrixed environment supporting multiple leaders and their teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and HR experience
- 10-12+ years HR Business Partner experience with knowledge across all HR disciplines
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred

- Ability to work autonomously while ensuring a strong partnership with the HR team
- Computer proficiency, including HRIS/Payroll experience (Workday preferred) and Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom/Teams)
- Comfortable operating in a highly matrixed environment, ability to partner internally and foresee up- and down-stream impacts of decisions.
- Change champion: personally resilient, comfortable with fast pace of change and able to see through complexity.
- Project management, particularly ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.
However, the pay range for this position is as follows. Sales Positions are eligible for a Variable Incentive
$107,500.00 - $199,600.00
