Job Overview:

The Senior Medicaid Business Analyst will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in Medicaid programs, business analysis, process improvement, system integration, and organizational change management. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT and technical stakeholders, to ensure the successful execution of Medicaid-related projects and initiatives. The goal is to enhance the quality of healthcare services for our beneficiaries through optimized processes and seamless integration of Medicaid systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Medicaid Expertise: Leverage your in-depth knowledge of Medicaid regulations, policies, and procedures to provide insights and recommendations for program enhancements
  • Business Analysis: Conduct thorough business analysis, including requirements gathering, documentation, and gap analysis to support the development and improvement of Medicaid services and systems
  • System Integration: Collaborate with technical teams to analyze, design, and implement system integration solutions that connect disparate Medicaid systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability across platforms
  • Project Management: Lead or participate in Medicaid-related projects from inception to implementation, ensuring deadlines, objectives, and system integration milestones are met
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, streamlining, automation, and integration within Medicaid operations, resulting in increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Organizational Change Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the impact of proposed changes, develop change management strategies, and support the adoption of new processes, technologies, and integrated systems
  • Data Analysis: Analyze Medicaid-related data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, helping to inform strategic decisions
  • System Testing & Validation: Participate in the testing and validation of integrated systems to ensure proper functionality and that Medicaid services meet operational and regulatory requirements
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Medicaid agencies, providers, technical teams, and other stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and foster positive working relationships
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, process maps, system integration specifications, and user manuals, to ensure clear communication and understanding of project objectives
  • Compliance: Ensure that all Medicaid-related initiatives and system integrations adhere to relevant regulatory and compliance standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 4 years dedicated to Medicaid-related projects
  • Strong understanding of Medicaid policies, regulations, and operations
  • Proven experience in system integration for healthcare or Medicaid-related projects
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including IT and technical staff, to drive system integration efforts
  • Expertise in process improvement and organizational change management
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Project management experience and knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
  • Relevant certifications, such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), Prosci Change Management certification, or PMP, are a plus
