Currently, we are looking for a Director, Field Marketing EMEA Central (Germany, Switzerland and Austria). As part of a high-growth team and region, this role will be responsible for leading a team of talented and highly capable marketers to deliver relevant, timely, and effective marketing efforts. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong blend of strategic and creative thinking, leadership skills, and hands-on execution in a field marketing context. 

They will need to showcase relevant experience and expertise across multiple segments and Routes to Market in EMEA Central (Germany, Switzerland and Austria), delivering customer-focused insights and data-driven marketing programs through multiple routes to market.

In addition, collaboration and engagement with key stakeholders are important to deliver successful outcomes, given that we operate within a matrixed, highly collaborative, and open environment, where relationship building across teams is important to achieving alignment.

The Role 

As the Director of Field Marketing EMEA Central, you will lead a Field Team and have individual responsibility for strategic planning, localizing, organizing and executing the overall integrated marketing plan in order to grow pipeline contribution.

You will work with your own team, the EMEA extended marketing team & Global team members to develop fully integrated campaign plans and programs that are aligned to the business objectives of the EMEA & EMEA Central sales organization. This entails executing global and regional campaigns in-country, providing feedback and strategy recommendations aligned to local business requirements, and working with cross-functional teams on region-specific programs and campaigns.

This role reports to the EMEA Vice President of Marketing.

Your tasks will include: 

The Director, Field Marketing EMEA Central manages the EMEA Central marketing function in the following 4 key areas:

Design, implement and manage regional marketing strategy & plan for EMEA Central

  • Develop a strategic Annual Marketing Plan and detailed Quarterly Marketing Plans
  • Develop and implement programmes that are focused on both demand generation and preference
  • Manage the EMEA Central marketing budget including programme and partner marketing budgets.
  • Rigorous planning and disciplined execution with a strong focus on ROI management
  • Accurate forecasting and insightful measurement of programme performance
  • Leverage regional measurement methodology, together with marketing ops team and business leaders, in order to analyse results and course-correct as program execution unfolds
  • Oversee the selection of local agencies and ownership of associated budgets. Evaluate, select and manage vendors that contribute to local demand creation programs including events venues and services and digital marketing agencies
  • Management of the EMEA Central marketing team planning, performance and results

Develop and implement high performing demand generation activities

  • Leverage Global and EMEA developed programs to deliver local demand generation programs; generating signals and pipeline contribution against targets.
  • Drive signal follow up by SDR & sales is a key component of the role and crucial for pipeline growth.
  • Work with ops and sales functions to define high potential market segments and market opportunities within those segments.
  • Develop and implement ABM strategies to support account penetration and growth
  • Work closely with local agencies to ensure that demand generation activities are focused, measured and drive results
  • Use digital marketing techniques to help drive positive conversations with prospects and customers
  • Leverage best practices and results

Leverage Partner marketing channel

  • Work closely with Partner Marketing Manager for EMEA Central to define partner marketing plans for key and strategic partners
  • Ensure that partner marketing funds are focused on driving co-marketing activities in cooperation with EMEA channel marketing and are driving pipeline build requirements.

Develop preference for Veeam and its solutions in the market

  • Work with relevant functions to define a target audience and drive activities to ensure that audience understand who Veeam is and what Veeam does.
  • These activities will create recognition for Veeam as a leader & trusted partner and drive understanding of our value proposition in order to shorten the sales and marketing cycles. Examples could be to create local customer references and drive local website traffic.  
  • Work closely with our PR and corporate communications function to support integrated campaigns and activities
What we expect from you:
  • 12 - 15+ years of marketing experience preferably with extensive experience in an enterprise software company
  • 5+ years of experience leading and building a diverse team in a matrixed environment
  • Proven experience successfully leading cross-functional teams; knowledge of demand generation, digital marketing, account based marketing (ABM), and partner marketing
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and open environment and create the context and working environment for associates to deliver beyond expectations
  • Deep understanding of how to use market intelligence, insight, and data to formulate and develop strategies and plans
  • Knowledge of and experience working with the partner ecosystem and best practices in partner marketing and co-marketing
  • Accountable for organizational alignment, planning, and budget management
  • Deep understanding of functional aspects of campaign management and technical administration through marketing automation tools
