Job Overview

Join VIQ Solutions, a frontrunner in the transcription services industry, as we adapt to a technologically advanced workflow within Legal and Judicial sectors. We are currently seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract professionals with substantial expertise in transcribing depositions and hearings. This is a fully remote opportunity available for Independent Contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings into accurate, verbatim transcripts.
  • Adhere strictly to established style guides while processing audio recordings.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail in all transcription tasks, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate remotely with our supportive in-office team when needed.
  • Manage your workload effectively to meet deadlines consistently.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in legal transcription, court reporting, or scoping required.
  • Excellent auditory skills to discern and accurately transcribe spoken content.
  • Strong adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guidelines.
  • Outstanding literacy skills encompassing comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
  • High typing proficiency, demonstrating both speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and potentially offensive audio/text content.
  • Basic familiarity with legal terminology is essential.
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in legal transcription or related fields is required.
  • Court reporting students will also be considered.
  • Candidates located in Massachusetts or California are not eligible for this opportunity.
