We are currently seeking two Remote Hybrid Resource Planning Specialists for a prominent client based in Las Vegas, NV. This position offers a structured hybrid work environment with designated office days and remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee comprehensive economic analyses of the Company’s electric systems.
  • Forecast total system fuel and purchased power costs, ensuring accuracy in unit production and fuel procurement.
  • Conduct extensive research in support of market fundamentals and tackle complex pricing, financial, economic, regulatory, or legislative challenges.
  • Operate and maintain advanced pricing models for asset valuation and resource planning.
  • Present findings in clear, concise reports to various stakeholders, including consultants and regulators.
  • Maintain and execute computer models that support significant resource decisions and operational strategies.
  • Provide regulatory support, including the preparation of written testimony and responses to data requests.
  • Mentor and train junior Resource Planning staff, ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 8-12 years of experience in utility production cost modeling.
  • Strong understanding of energy supply fundamentals and regional market behaviors.
  • Proficiency in modeling, analytical, statistical, and reporting software.
  • Knowledge of generation, transmission, gas transportation, and wholesale power markets.
  • Excellent quantitative, project management, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.

Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in resource planning, specifically in production cost modeling for electric utilities.
  • Familiarity with PLEXOS software is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

Compensation And Benefits
