Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewables Real Estate Attorney to join our forward-thinking team in the renewable energy sector. Key Responsibilities

In the capacity of Renewables Real Estate Counsel, you will be pivotal in managing intricate renewable energy real estate transactions. Your role will involve:

  • Serving as a subject matter expert in lease negotiations, land options, purchase agreements, and easements for utility-scale renewable projects across various ISOs/RTOs.
  • Drafting, amending, and negotiating all legal agreements related to land for renewable energy initiatives.
  • Assisting the Real Estate team with title, survey, and mineral due diligence processes, including researching land use requirements and restrictions.
  • Ensuring the successful financial closing of renewable land development purchase and lease transactions.
  • Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, including outside counsel, throughout the land acquisition process and associated project financing.

Required Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following skills:

  • Profound ability to draft and review various real estate documents, including purchase agreements, lease terms, and easements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of land title issues, mineral rights, and the permitting processes pertinent to real estate land acquisition.
  • Established background in land negotiations and commercial real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with the lifecycle of utility-scale renewables development, including interconnection, permitting, and PPA negotiations is a plus.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of legal experience in large infrastructure land development transactions, particularly in the utility-scale renewables sector.
  • Preferably, experience at a reputable law firm.
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
