Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to delivering exceptional pharmacy services to our patients and healthcare providers, ensuring the seamless operation of our pharmacy functions while furthering our commitment to enhancing patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist BCBSM and BCNA providers with inquiries related to Medicare Part B drug coverage and prior authorizations.
  • Efficiently process prior authorization requests.
  • Manage both incoming and outgoing communications with members and providers.
  • Maintain a designated workspace that is quiet, organized, and secure, ensuring the protection of patient health information (PHI).

Required Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in Specialty and/or Retail Pharmacy.
  • Experience in a provider/member call center or help desk setting.
  • Proven ability to efficiently process prior authorization requests.
  • Familiarity with specialty prescription drug names, NDC codes, therapeutic classifications, and claims processing is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for effective engagement with healthcare providers and members.
  • Capability to analyze various inquiries, leading to accurate medical authorization entries into online platforms.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Minimum one year of pharmacy experience working under a licensed pharmacist, or completion of a certified pharmacy technician program.
  • Working knowledge of the third-party claims process is essential.
