Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Automation Operations and DevOps team in a remote capacity. This pivotal role involves steering a dynamic assembly of software engineers dedicated to addressing automation challenges within our cloud ecosystem, guaranteeing scalability and operational efficiency. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering prompt and precise solutions to client inquiries while effectively managing cloud resources on a large scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a global team of over 40 engineers, overseeing their development and recruitment processes.
  • Take ownership of incident management, ensuring optimal performance and availability of our cloud-supported environments.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by driving the creation of automated solutions for manual processes, thereby enhancing service quality across all areas.
  • Establish and uphold rigorous processes for the scheduling, execution, and assessment of organizational changes.
  • Analyze current operations and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate both individual and team performance.
  • Direct the onboarding process for new team members, equipping them with the necessary training and documentation to ensure seamless operations.

Required Skills

  • Over 10 years of hands-on operations experience within a technical environment, including personnel management and a strong grasp of operational processes, especially in cloud technologies.
  • Proven experience in Cloud Operations, specifically in Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
  • Familiarity with follow-the-sun operational models and effective cross-shift communication techniques.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ITIL processes (preferably ITIL v3).
  • Exceptional communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud services, including data centers, networking, applications, and relational databases.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
