Job Overview

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Team Lead to support our esteemed government client at Stennis Space Center, MS. In this pivotal role, you will lead a dedicated team of four and be instrumental in ensuring compliance with federal personnel processes. This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership for a Personnel Action Request Processing Team.
  • Oversee ServiceNow requests for personnel actions and create reports as required.
  • Initiate, review, validate, and process various personnel transactions in the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS), ensuring adherence to accuracy and compliance standards.
  • Maintain and enhance personnel action submission schedules, webpages, FAQs, work guides, and training materials.
  • Act as the official custodian of the electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) for NASA Civil Service personnel, ensuring meticulous maintenance of employee and performance records.
  • Stay informed about pertinent laws, rules, and regulations governing personnel action processing.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Offices, Business Partners, and internal teams to clarify and process transactional data effectively.
  • Monitor relevant reports to ensure accurate updates to personnel actions and address discrepancies as needed.
  • Elevate complex personnel actions for review and provide support on new and complex issues.
  • Recommend enhancements to systems and processes, aiming for greater efficiency.
  • Assist NASA employees with technical inquiries related to personnel actions.
  • Process personnel actions for Senior Executive Service (SES), Scientific (ST), Senior Level (SL), and Schedule C positions.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in human resources.
  • Capability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Expertise in human resources practices, particularly concerning federal personnel actions and record maintenance.
  • Extensive familiarity with the processes and systems involved in Federal personnel action processing and eOPF functions.
  • Proficiency in a dynamic and collaborative work environment, with adaptability to both remote and onsite work settings.
  • Strong teamwork abilities, along with the capacity to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High School Diploma is required.
