Job Overview:
The IT Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring security, compliance, and efficiency. This role will focus on managing desktop compliance, ensuring devices and equipment are secure and up to date, and building effective response metrics for ticketing systems. The IT Operations Manager will partner with cross-functional teams, including the training team, to develop standardized usage policies and equipment guidelines. This role requires expertise across multiple operating systems (Apple, Microsoft, Google) and experience scaling IT operations within a fast-growing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing IT Infrastructure: Oversee the management of hardware, software, and networking systems, ensuring systems are secure and up to date. Develop long-term strategies for IT infrastructure, including the integration of new technologies and the decommissioning of outdated systems.
  • Desktop Compliance: Implement processes to manage the desktop environment for employees, ensuring that all devices are compliant with security protocols and up to date with the latest software and system updates.
  • System Maintenance and Upgrades: Lead the planning and execution of preventative maintenance and system upgrades. Develop schedules for system upkeep, user support, and backup and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Ticketing and Response Metrics: Establish and refine intake processes for IT tickets, building robust response metrics to ensure timely and efficient resolution of issues. Monitor and optimize ticket handling processes for continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Platform Support: Manage and support a diverse range of operating systems, including Apple, Microsoft, and Google. Provide tailored support for teams using different systems, particularly the sales team, which primarily uses Macs.
  • IT Policy and Process Development: Collaborate with internal teams to build and enforce IT policies and processes. Be assertive in ensuring compliance and consistency across the organization’s fast-growing infrastructure.
  • Training and Partnership: Partner with the training team to facilitate the proper use of IT equipment and ensure employees are educated on IT policies and procedures. Develop standardized training materials and guidelines for the workforce.
  • Project Management: Lead IT projects, including new system deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and service improvements. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and align with business goals.
  • Vendor and Service Provider Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including internet, cloud computing, and hardware maintenance providers.
  • IT Compliance: Ensure that all IT systems adhere to relevant industry standards and regulations, including security and data privacy requirements.
  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and coach IT staff, ensuring that the team is aligned with the company’s goals. Set clear objectives, appraise performance, and provide opportunities for professional development.
  • Strategic IT Planning: Develop and implement strategic IT plans that align with the business’s long-term goals, focusing on scalability and efficiency as the company continues to grow.

Key Skills:

  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with IT systems and technologies, including network architecture, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cross-platform support (Apple, Microsoft, Google).
  • Project Management Skills: Strong ability to plan, budget, implement, and deliver IT projects. Proficiency in coordinating cross-functional teams and effectively communicating with leadership.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven experience leading IT teams, setting clear objectives, and fostering collaboration across departments. Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Strategic Planning and Decision Making: Ability to align IT strategy with business objectives, particularly in rapidly growing environments. Experience with scaling IT operations and implementing processes in fast-growth organizations.
  • Compliance and Security Focus: Expertise in desktop compliance, device security, and policy enforcement. Ability to be assertive in enforcing policies across departments.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant work experience. Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ are highly valued.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience managing IT operations in a corporate environment, with experience in team management, ITIL best practices, cloud infrastructure, network security, compliance, and vendor management. Experience scaling IT operations in a fast-growing company is highly preferred.
  • Additional Requirements: Experience managing and supporting multiple operating systems (Apple, Microsoft, Google) is required. Ability to build out response metrics for IT ticketing systems and effectively manage desktop environments is essential.
