Job Title: Medical Authorization Assistant - Remote | WFH

Hourly Rate: \(23.92 - \)33.48/hr

Compensation will be determined by the client based on experience and their internal pay scale.

Overview

Join a prestigious healthcare organization as a Medical Authorization Assistant, where you will play a critical role in supporting our inpatient Medical Case Managers. This remote position allows you to contribute to the efficiency of healthcare operations while ensuring top-tier service quality and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process inpatient requests received via fax, phone, or electronically, entering new case data into the medical management system.
  • Create inpatient events based on clinical information and facility face sheets.
  • Verify member eligibility and gather necessary data from members, providers, or facilities to complete service reviews.
  • Authorize requested services in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Act as a liaison with health networks and the Customer Service department regarding enrollments.
  • Assist Medical Case Managers in obtaining medical records, coding for diagnoses and procedures, and conducting follow-up communications.
  • Document all contacts and case information consistently using standard charting formats.
  • Enter data into relevant databases for the monitoring and tracking of inpatient events.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental objectives and take on additional projects as assigned.
