Job Overview

Join our esteemed outpatient mental health agency as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) in a fully remote capacity. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including detailed medical histories and mental status examinations.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses based on assessment findings adhering to DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
  • Collaborate with patients to develop personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based interventions.
  • Prescribe psychotropic medications, monitoring their effectiveness and side effects, making necessary adjustments to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Deliver individualized psychotherapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
  • Manage psychiatric emergencies, prioritizing patient safety and coordinating with emergency services as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists and social workers, for effective care coordination.
  • Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions and available treatment options, advocating for their rights and access to services.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health service delivery and patient outcomes.

  • Excellent organizational skills for effective caseload management.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with a sound understanding of cognitive/behavioral therapy concepts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
  • Must possess a valid nursing license in the State of Virginia.
  • Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Clinical experience working with adolescents or adults experiencing mental health challenges such as trauma, anxiety, or mood disorders.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Pay: Hourly rate of $70, with options for part-time and full-time positions.
