The energy transition needs you as a Scientific Software Python Developer   

Grid Operations and Analytics (GOAT) is a multidisciplinary DevOps team. Together we are working on developing products for calculations in the distribution network. We are developing and maintaining 3 products, supporting short-term and long-term calculations in System Operations. Our products enable Alliander to better manage existing network capacity in the short-term and connect more customers in the distribution network in the long term. This is facilitating the energy transition within Alliander, while also ensuring the safety of our electric grid.

  • developing and improving our products, in terms of functionality, performance and scalability. 

  • adding features into our existing products by using your analytical skills and python knowledge. 

  • overseeing and solving complex analytical problems. 

  • being able to think critically, open for new ideas and eager to learn about the challenges of the energy transition.

Grid Operations and Analytics (GOAT) is a multidisciplinary DevOps team consisting of software developers, energy specialists, product owner and scrum master.  

 

You boost our network     

Do you want to work with the latest technologies and innovations? With your talent and experience you can contribute to our results and success. We are looking in particular for a candidate with: 

  • Extensive programming experience in Python.  

  • Experience with setting up and maintaining CI/CD software pipelines (tekton/github actions), releases and deployments.  

  • Experience in writing and maintaining automatic tests. Unit Tests, Integration Tests, End-to-End Tests that are run or started from the CI/CD pipelines.  

  • Knowledge and experience with developing APIs and REST (such as FastAPI) optionally with pub/sub (such as Celery).  

  • Knowledge and experience with developing event streaming (such as Kafka) optionally as part of the sub part of an API.  And experience with setting up monitoring, logging and alerts to guarantee availability. 

Better organised for you   

Based on a 40-hour working week, you will receive:  

  • A gross monthly salary EUR 4.274 to EUR 6.106 (scale 9 or 10) 

  • Annually an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% (full time) or 12.8% (part time) of your gross annual salary. This includes 5.2% ADV (shorter working hours) and 8% holiday allowance. If you do not work full time, you are not entitled to ADV. You can have this budget paid out as extra salary or use it to purchase extra days off, for example. You choose the option that is right for you. 

  • 25 days’ holiday (statutory + non-statutory). You can use your IKB to top this up to (full time) (part time). 

  • An end-of-year bonus of 6% of your annual salary in December. 

  • The possibility to work from home or the office in Arnhem;   

  • A Sustainable Employability Budget of €500 per year. This can be used for expenses such as your sports subscription or coaching, as well as ergonomic home office furniture, career development, or professional literature.
