About the Team

The Custom Analytics team collaborates with researchers to help clients maximize the potential of YouGov data at every stage of research, from proposal and design to analysis. We specialize in delivering advanced statistics and data science such as Key Driver Analysis, Segmentation, Pricing, and Brand Mapping for the external YouGov clients. 

What will you be delivering? 

  • Supporting the Analytics team, you will be using your statistical skills to analyse data using advanced analytics methodologies and deliver results to the client teams across EMEA and APAC.
  • You should be able to explain the methodology that was leveraged to stakeholders, both internal and external audiences, the rationale for the approach and be proficient in writing up the methodology as well.
  • You will be a keen learner, take initiative in learning as much about the methodologies we work on at YouGov and have a background in Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/Data Science.
  • You will be proficient in delivering Excel based dashboards, simulators with past experience in delivering these kinds of deliverables.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Assessing data structure and recommending appropriate analysis techniques.
  • Communicating statistical analysis results to both trained and untrained audiences, internally and potentially externally.
  • Assisting YouGov researchers in ensuring that proposed questionnaires and samples are suitable for desired statistical analysis.
  • Managing requests for assistance from researchers, estimating project length and complexity, prioritizing tasks, and handling queries from YouGov researchers.
  • Cleaning, processing, and recoding data for statistical analysis.
  • Conducting ad hoc statistical analysis of survey data, including: Linear regression; Regression with categorial dependent variables (eg: binomial and multinomial logistic regression); Regression with multilevel or panel data ( eg: fixed effects, random effects, hierarchical models); Factor principle components and related spatial methods.

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree in statistics, econometrics, mathematics, physics, data science, or a related field (graduate-level training).
  • Strong understanding of regression and spatial techniques for data analysis, as outlined in responsibilities above.
  • Confident experience in command-line based statistical software (strong R skills required).
  • Strong experience with Excel based dashboards and VBA programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and proactively communicate.
