Job description

Role Overview:

Our client seeks a dynamic and experienced Head of Product & UX to spearhead product development, user experience (UX) design, and innovation tailored to the African market. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge and expertise in both product management and UX within the iGaming sector, with a focus on delivering cutting-edge solutions and creating seamless, engaging experiences for customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and execute a comprehensive product and UX strategy aligned with market dynamics and customer needs, driving product innovation, enhanced user experiences, and revenue growth.
  • Product & UX Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle and UX design process, from concept ideation to market launch. Ensure that products not only meet quality standards and regulatory requirements but also deliver intuitive, engaging, and user-centered experiences. This will also involve pushing for end-to-end development, engaging closely with the tech teams.
  • Market & User Research: Conduct thorough market analysis, competitor research, and user research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and opportunities for product differentiation and UX improvement in the African gaming landscape.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including technology, design, marketing, and operations to align product and UX development efforts with business objectives and ensure seamless product and experience delivery. The candidate will also oversee project owners who will report to them but should actively engage in the process.
  • User-Centered Design & UX Optimization: Lead UX optimization across all gaming products. Leverage user feedback, data analytics, usability testing, and industry best practices to enhance the overall user experience, driving engagement, retention, and monetization.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners. Evaluate and integrate external solutions to complement internal product offerings and enhance both product performance and UX.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant gaming regulations and UX accessibility standards across all African markets. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks and uphold regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, UX Design, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management and UX roles within the iGaming industry, with a focus on the African market preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful product development, innovation, and UX design, with a deep understanding of gaming products, features, and technologies.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams towards achieving strategic product and UX objectives.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and user-centered design.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English (knowledge of French is a plus).
  • A passion for gaming and a keen interest in understanding customer behavior, user needs, and market trends.

Plus:

  • Experience working with bespoke technology stacks developed in-house as opposed to third-party software will be a significant advantage.
