Job description

In A Nutshell

Lead the design, development and delivery of our marketing site using Next.js and Storyblok, helping us drive our brand forward.

A Little About You

You’re a skilled web developer with a keen eye for design, capable of bringing concepts to life in a way that resonates with users. Your expertise lies in front-end development, particularly with Next.js, and you’re comfortable working with a headless CMS like Storyblok. Your skillset lies at the intersection between design and development, ensuring that your work not only functions well but also looks stunning.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and are excited to work within a cross-functional marketing team to create and deliver new web features and campaigns. You’re adaptable, eager to learn, and passionate about staying ahead of industry trends. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and learning from others, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

You’re driven by the desire to solve problems creatively, focusing on user-centric solutions that align with marketing goals. You enjoy the challenge of balancing design aesthetics with technical precision, ensuring a seamless experience for end-users.

Who We Are

Lyssna (formerly UsabilityHub) is a remote research platform that helps our customers deeply understand their audience and make informed decisions quickly. Our mission is to improve the quality of experiences in the world by putting people at the heart of solutions. Founded in 2008, we’re a bootstrapped B2B SaaS platform focused on sustainable growth, with a global, fully remote team. We’re growing and looking for top talent to help scale our mission.

Why We Need You

As we expand our marketing efforts, we need a talented web developer to design, build, maintain, and optimise our web presence. You’ll be part of our marketing team, working with Claire, Meagan and Diane to ensure our digital assets are top-notch and aligned with our brand strategy. You’ll also work closely with our engineering team, sharing best practices and developing your software engineering craft alongside the rest of the team. Your work will help us engage our audience more effectively, driving both customer acquisition and retention.

How We Work

  • We’re impact-driven and passionate about delivering value to our customers, prioritizing delivery over perfection.
  • We support each other and understand that individual success is dependent on the success of everyone else. We invest in our personal and professional growth and consider learning, reflection, and up-skilling central to our jobs.
  • We’re a small but mighty team, competing with companies 2-4x our size.
  • We hire great people, give them autonomy, and value feedback to constantly improve.

Picture Yourself In The Role

If you were here for this sprint, you would have:

  • Designed and implemented a new landing page that visually communicates our latest campaign, collaborating closely with Diane (senior content marketing manager) on content
  • Worked with Claire (director of marketing) and our SEO agency to plan out optimizations to our marketing site’s SEO
  • Joined the marketing team daily standup, sharing updates on your work in flight, and aligning around the team’s goals for the week
  • Refactored part of the marketing site codebase to make the code cleaner and easier to work with
  • Paired with Irene (senior software engineer) on a pagespeed performance issue
  • Attended the engineering team meeting and discussed how we can improve our technical practices
  • Participated in a team ideation workshop around a new product feature we’re planning
