Senior Research Consultant

The Manager 2, Reporting and Analytics will lead and manage various GRC quality improvement (QI) projects and manage two or more research staff. Position responsibilities include supervising the research and administrative efforts of project team members; providing direct supervision to at least 2 or more research staff; providing subject matter expertise on quality improvement and/or health policy projects; and project development, including grant and proposal writing, among other activities (additional details included in “Responsibilities (Duties)” section below). This position will require statistical programming skills, in-depth knowledge of health system and state administrative data sets, and the ability to perform advanced statistical analyses to analyze data sets from multiple sources to identify improvement.  Examples include project-related research and technical assistance, including defining measures, creating codebooks, analyzing Electronic Health Record (EHR) data, linking EHR data to state administrative data sets, conducting complex evaluations, writing technical evaluation reports, and managing relationships with project sponsors and external partners.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of three years of relevant experience with an advanced degree or five years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree is required. Proficiency in a statistical analysis software such as R, Stata or SAS is required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Additional Desired Qualifications

Training in quality improvement science included but not limited to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Breakthrough Series Model, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), or Lean Tools is preferred. Direct work experience in quality improvement science strongly preferred.
