Job Description

TED is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Project Manager to join the Brand Creative team. The Brand Creative team is TED’s in-house creative studio.

The Project Manager leads the overall planning, progress, status reporting, and follow-up of creative projects to ensure project goals and objectives are met within the agreed upon time, scope, and resource requirements.

The PM is the liaison between the Brand Creative team and TED’s internal teams for the fulfillment of design, illustration, motion graphics, and other visual asset requests. The PM provides ongoing support to the Brand Creative team, ensuring seamless execution of project plans to meet established deadlines and creative briefs. This role will report to the Creative Director. 

The ideal candidate knows the creative process inside and out and has worked as a PM at a creative agency, in-house studio, small design shop, or similar. They can easily keep track of multiple projects at once while fielding new requests. They are proactive and identify potential bottlenecks in the schedule. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In coordination with Brand Creative team leads (Creative Director and Design Director), lead project planning throughout the creative asset life cycle, from kick-off to final deliverables

  • Maintain an overall prioritized project schedule

    • Pre-plan for heavy work periods and manage and track change requests

  • Translate project requirements into concrete tasks that creatives can execute

    • Field questions from design team and support them in sourcing data or assets that they might need from other internal teams

  • Help provide quality assurance for creative assets

  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and vendors

    • Maintain clear notes and action items for projects

  • Continue to maintain strong relationships with internal teams and vendors; this includes collaborating with internal teams to create achievable timelines where Brand Creative is involved

  • Create and proof creative briefs for projects that require external freelance support

  • Maintain open and efficient lines of communication with freelancers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

  • Field questions and support internal team members when requesting brand assets

Qualifications
  • Must be available to work Monday- Thursday 10:30am  - 3:30pm EST

  • Prior experience managing the end to end creative process, including print and digital

  • Understanding of the creative workflow of graphic design, branding, digital photography, motion graphics, and illustration

  • Dedication to a collaborative working environment

  • Proactive and strategic problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent time-management skills

  • Confident negotiation and excellent listening and communication skills

  • Commitment to and deep understanding of the creative process

  • Strong proficiency with Airtable

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Additional Information

Location: Remote or NYC

Hours: 20 hours per week with potential for up to 30 hours during busy periods

Compensation: $45 - $50/hr
