We are looking for a Middleware Engineer (API) ! You will be based at The Island, our office in central Paris

As a Middleware Engineer specializing in iPaaS, you will design, implement, and maintain integration solutions across our diverse cloud and on-premise systems. Your expertise in iPaaS will be fundamental in streamlining data flow and enhancing communication across our platforms.

The role engages with internal resources, strategic vendors and business stakeholders when escalating investigations or when higher level of expertise is required.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the expertise for the integration platform and closely collaborate with the Integration Product Owner on platform vision and strategy.
  • Participate end-to-end in the full lifecycle management of the Platform from design, build, deployment and operation of the platform
  • Ensures the platform is designed to be properly scalable, robust, efficient, secure, and reliable in accordance with relevant principles, policies, patterns and standards
  • Collaborate with Tech and business teams to define integration requirements and ensure alignment with business goals

Education

  • At least Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with over 3 years of application and data integration experience

Experience / Background 

  • Proven experience in middleware engineering with a strong focus on iPaaS API development and management
  • Practical and in-depth knowledge of Azure Cloud
  • Good understanding of cloud architecture components, network virtualization, cloud security and automation
  • Good understanding of programming languages
  • Excellent English language skills (both verbal and written)
  • Availability for traveling 10%+ of time

Skills / Competencies

  • Hands-on expertise and worked as an Integration Technology Architect, Integration Engineer, or similar role on the adoption of Hybrid Integration, iPaaS solutions like Azure Services (Logic Apps, Azure Functions) etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of integration architecture concepts and patterns, including Service Oriented Architecture, Batch Integration, Sync/Async, Event Driven Architecture etc.
  • Knowledge of integration patterns, protocols, and standards (e.g., SOAP, XML, REST, JSON, WSDL, AS2)
  • Understanding of security standards and protocols related to API security, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, and JWT
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub
  • Familiarity with tools like Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Git
  • Ability to work with various cultures, languages and nationalities (the role is global)
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and standards
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people from end users to deep, technical experts
  • Structured, methodical, organized, and proactive (self-starter)
  • Experience in working and delivering in the scrum / agile methodologies
