Job Title:        Quality Control Engineer

The role
As a Quality Control Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role will have responsibility for assuring that the delivered vehicles meet our expected quality, technical and performance levels.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll spend time in the production area problem solving, managing and reacting to process defects within the production line.

 

  • Lead problem solving for in process defects , vehicle investigations and non-conforming material                        
  • Support root cause analysis and facilitating quality working groups where necessary
  • Working collaboratively with all operational teams and land projects, ensuring interfaces are working and there is a cohesive approach across the Project Team to establish a culture of collaboration, evaluation and improvement
  • Providing support to the Site Teams for internal and external audits, including audit preparation, attendance at audits where required and providing post audit advice on corrective action plans in the build process
  • Providing quality control guidance to the project team, customer and suppliers


This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport.

 

Essential experience of the Quality Control Engineer:

  • Understanding of the customer context and requirements with regards to quality control, assurance, evaluation and improvement
  • Practical knowledge and experience of quality management standard ISO9001 
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to use (MS Office, MS Outlook SharePoint)
  • Ability to lead problem solving activities utilising industry standard methodologies
